So much entertainment awaits you at Christmas in the Village

Christmas in the Village will be celebrated in Jefferson Township on Saturday, December 1st at many venues in the municipality, orchestrated by the Jefferson Arts Committee, the Jefferson Township Recreation Department, and many volunteers.  With free admission, free parking, and free shuttle service between venues, it is sure to be a day filled with live entertainment, exciting activities, shopping, food, and refreshments.

The entertainment schedule at specific venues is tentatively scheduled as follows.  Look for updates and a final program with times online at www.jeffersonarts.org or www.jeffersontownship.net (Departments-Recreation and Events), and program brochures will be distributed the day of the event at all venues.   

Jefferson Township Public Library:  Free performances by the Arthur Stanlick School’s Select Chorus, the Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church’s Wandering Troubadours, Jinx the Clown, Morris County Dance Academy, and the Lake Hopatcong Methodist Church’s Praise Band. 

Jefferson Township Senior Center: 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM free performances of O’Henry’s beloved story of love and unselfishness “The Gift of the Magi” performed by the Jefferson Community Players.  A optional Christmas Cup of Tea service will accompany each performance at a cost of $5 per person ,and reservations are required by calling 973-697-2750. 

American Legion Post #423: Free performances by Rock Bands with Holiday Spirit: Above All Fallen, Stop the Clock, Enthrall, and Ideal Mistake.

Jefferson Township Museum: Free Melodeon music played by Margaret Brandell (with Jeff See on guitar), Tim Adrianson, George Pantelides, Mike Yanuzzi, and Dianna Filan throughout the day.  There will also be a performance by the Berkshire Valley Presbyterian Church Choir.  

St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church:  Free performances by White Rock School Music Ensembles, the Jefferson Township Middle School Band, The Disciples of Love, the Jefferson Township High School Wind Ensemble, Covenant Brass, and the Jefferson Township Community Band.

Milton United Methodist Church: Free performances by the Jefferson Township Community Chorus and the Jefferson Township High School Madrigal Singers.

Camp Jefferson:  Free Visit with Santa and model train display with holiday music.

Jefferson Township Gazebo: Free performance by White Rock School’s Choir, a holiday sing-along, and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas”.  Mayor Russ Felter’s 2007 Citizens of the Year will participate in the lighting of the Township Christmas Tree, and Santa himself will arrive at Town Hall!
