Jefferson Community Chorus is seeking a new director

The Jefferson Arts Committee is seeking a qualified individual to fill the 10-month stipend position of a part-time Choral Director to lead a group of enthusiastic adults who are members of the Jefferson Township Community Chorus.  Creativity, innovation, and enthusiasim could bring the chorus to new musical heights!

The Jefferson Township Community Chorus was formed in February of 2001 to provide an opportunity to individuals who love to sing, are looking for a venue to sing with others, enjoy the challenge of learning new musical arrangements, and want to entertain the public.   Information about the Jefferson Committee and the Community Chorus can be accessed by logging on to www.jeffersonarts.org

The candidate should possess a BA in music, preferably vocal with choral experience preferred.  Rehearsals are one night per week (Tuesdays in the Jefferson Township Middle School Music Room, 1000 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, NJ); and responsibilities include planning, preparation, and presentation of an annual spring and winter choral concert, performances at a July and December Jefferson Arts Committee event, and other special events by invitation.

A stipend is paid for each rehearsal and each performance - travel expenses are not reimbursed.  The chorus is presently on summer hiatus but will resume rehearsals in September.

Letters of intent accompanied by a resume can be sent to Carol Punturieri, President, Jefferson Arts Committee, PO Box 2604, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 or by e-mail to artscommittee@jeffersonarts.org   A personal interview will be required.

The Jefferson Arts Committee is a non-profit organization, incorporated and tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service.
