Celebrate the Season with the Jefferson Township Community Chorus!

The Milton United Methodist Church will host a Christmas Concert by the Jefferson Township Community Chorus, as part of the church’s Concert in the Sanctuary series, on Sunday, December 6, 2009, 3:30 p.m.  The church is located at 316 Dover-Milton Rd, Oak Ridge, NJ. and is handicapped accessible. The concert will be held in their beautiful new facility that enhances concert performances with high-tech sound equipment and comfortable seating.  Light refreshments will follow.

A few of the selections in the program will be “The Heavens Are Telling” by Haydn,  “The First Noel/Pachelbel’s Canon, ” and “He Is Born,” which will include additional accompaniment by the church’s Handbell Choir. All music has been chosen to Celebrate the Season and promises to set the mood for the holidays to follow. The Chorus is directed by Patricia E. Cole, and accompanied by Margaret Brandell.

Suggested donation for tickets is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and students over age 12. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets are available in advance from any chorus member, or by calling Doug at 973-697-2120 or Margaret at 973-697-6659. Tickets will also be available at the door as space permits. Proceeds will benefit both the Chorus and the church’s Historical Sanctuary Fund and Building Fund.

Sponsored by Jefferson Arts Committee, the next open membership time for the Chorus begins in February, when Spring Concert preparations will begin. The only requirement for membership is a love of choral singing. High school students and adults of all voice parts are welcome.
