Fun Run/Walk scheduled for September 8th
5K “Fun Run & Walk” for our Military
Members of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5510 and the Jefferson Arts Afghanistan Committee are planning a 5K “Fun Run & Walk” for Saturday, September 8th, 2012. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the following age groups: 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and over 70.
The “Fun Run & Walk” is a fund raiser for the committee to send food items, snacks, personal items, etc., to township residents who are serving in the Armed Forces and Afghanistan. If you want to donate items, you can do so when registering.
The run will begin at the American Legion Post No. 423 on Legion Road, continue through local side streets and end at the American Legion.
Applications to enter the “Fun Run” are available at local stores or on line by contacting Mike Murphy at Globemaster2@hotmail.com. Fees for the Run are $10.00 pre-registration and $15.00 at the time of registration. Fees can be paid by mailing it to Mike Murphy, Windsor Drive, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 or at the time of registration.
Registration for the” Run & Walk” will be at the American Legion from 8:00 AM to 8:45 AM. The “Run & Walk” will start at 9:00 AM. A light refreshment will be available.
Everyone is encouraged to participate. You need not be a runner; you can enjoy walking through pleasant neighborhoods with your family and friends.
