Open Casting Call

The Jefferson Community Players will hold open casting for their 2014 theatrical season on Jan. 26 and Feb. 2 from 4 to 6 pm and Jan. 27 and Feb. 3 from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. Casting will be held at the Jefferson Senior Center, 54 Schoolhouse Road. Productions available for casting include: "Vanities", "Catch Me If You Can", "Anne of Green Gables", "Little Women" and "Notorious". Additional productions will be added throughout the year. "Vanities", a bittersweet comedy in three scenes, explores the relationships of three women. They were friends in high school in 1963, college graduates in 1968 and reunite six years later to renew their friendship. Each actress must portray an age progression for her character, beginning with age 18 through age 29.

"Catch Me If You Can" is a three act play with more than one mystery to solve. On a Labor Day weekend, Daniel Corban reports his wife missing from during their vacation in the Catskills. When Inspector Levine appears to investigate the matter, Elizabeth Corban reappears. But Daniel denies that the woman is Elizabeth and tries to catch her in a lie to reveal her true identity. Age requirements of the following characters are approximate: Daniel (age 35-45), Inspector Levine (age 45-60) Father Kelleher (age 45-60) Elizabeth (age 30-40) Sidney (age 60-70) Mrs. Parker (age 25-30) Mr. Parker (age 45-60). This production is slated to be a dinner/theatre production.

"Anne of Green Gables" and "Little Women" are 60 minute play adaptations featuring favorite scenes from these classic books. Both plays have roles for actresses (ages 12 to 70) and actors (ages 16 to 70).

"Notorious" is a one hour radio play version of the Alfred Hitchcock film that featured Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant and Claude Raines. Multiple roles are available for actors and actresses of all adult ages.
