The Jefferson Arts Committee’s Gazebo Committee is pleased to announce that Theatre Rock will appear in the 2016 free summer concert series on Friday evening, August 26.  The show will be held in the beautiful Victorian gazebo located in the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex, 1033 Weldon Road, Lake Hopatcong, NJ beginning at 7 pm, is sponsored by the Jefferson Arts Committee and is the last concert of the 2016 season.

Founded in 2011 by professional singers and musicians, Theatre Rock performs a rousing concert tribute to the “Rock Musical” genre.  Chronicling the history of rock musicals starting with Hair in 1969, TR honors Pippin, Rocky Horror, The Who’s Tommy, Chess, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, Godspell, Aida, Wicked, Next to Normal, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Spring Awakening, Jersey Boys, Rock of Ages and many, many more.

Theatre Rock’s evolving cast of dynamic talent boasts Broadway/Off Broadway national/international tours and recording credit.  They have performed regularly at BB King’s mainstage in Times Square, NYC as well as Toshi’s Living Room in NYC, the NJ State Fair and various venues and music festivals throughout NY and NJ

Joe Andolino, who plays keyboard, lost his wife Dr. Alissa (Cucci) Andolino on June 7th when she lost her  courageous battle with cancer at the age of 39.  She leaves behind her husband and two children, Giancarlo age 5 and Arabella age 3.  Alissa, a graduate of the Jefferson Township High School, was a daughter, sister, friend, wife, and mother and also an OB/GYN devoted to her patients.  Even through difficult chemo treatments and experimental medicines, she persevered and stayed positive, focusing on the time she was spending NOW rather than what she might be missing later with her family and creating beautiful memories with her two small children.

Alissa was Joe's number one fan of his band Theatre Rock, and the concert will be dedicated ot her memory so come join us to celebrate in her honor right here in her hometown. She would want it no other way, since the show must go on.

Attendees are asked to bring a blanket or chair for their comfort; and non-alcoholic beverages, picnic dinners, and snacks are permitted on the grounds unless the concert is moved indoors due to weather conditions.  In the event of the threat of inclement weather or such weather, the concert will be moved indoors to the Jefferson Township High School auditorium, 1010 Weldon Road.  For information and updates, call before you go: 973-697-2032 or 697-3828, log on to www.jeffersonarts.org or www.jeffersontownship.net

What a great way to end the week and wind down for the weekend.  Remember, dancing and singing along is always encouraged at these summer concerts; and free-will donations are always gratefully accepted.
